A Jewish
Heritage tour to Central Europe is moving, culturally enlightening
and lots of fun. You explore the capitals of three countries - Budapest
in Hungary, Vienna in Austria, and Prague in the Czech Republic.
Visit fabled palaces, castles, churches, see bridges, statues, monuments
and Renaissance villages. Enjoy wonderful food, listen to beautiful
music and view incredible architecture. Stay in world-class luxury
hotels where the service is impeccable and personal.
The
Jewish connection in this region is strong and meaningful, rich
in Jewish history and culture. Visiting old synagogues, the Jewish
cemetery in Prague, the monuments dedicated to the "Sho'ah" and
the "model" camp of Terezinstadt are unforgettable experiences.
A Bar/Bat
Mitzvah celebration is offered in Budapest. I discovered a small,
gem of a "Neolog" Synagogue where you attend Friday night services
and a Shabbat Bar/Bat Mitzvah celebration. The Rabbi and congregation
are warm and friendly and after services, the families join the
congregation for a Kiddush.
"Neolog"
is a form of Judaism that exists only in Central Europe, a variation
of traditional Orthodox using a Conservative Prayer Book. Despite
the language gap, the familiar Shabbat service creates a common
bond that makes everyone feel at home. To top the festivities you
dine at the world-renowned Gundel Restaurant serenaded by Gypsy
violinists.
A trip
to Central Europe is a memorable way to mark a Bar/Bat Mitzvah celebration,
get in touch with your Jewish heritage, and enjoy a wonderful vacation.
Tours are offered to suit your dates and budget.
